Great looking speakers too! They say home-build? Did you build those? oh, and is that you in the picture? You need to iron your pants! Just messing with ya! I want those speakers. They look great and I'll bet they'd sound really smooth hooked to the 500's.

I had a girlfriend in the sixties that tie-dyed everything. She was a nutcase. We slept on tie-dyed sheets!

Yes, I built those electrostats about a year and a half ago. Actually the stat panels are pretty simple and lend themselves to DIY pretty well. If there were a DIY section here I would post pics of the build process... maybe I can post a link for that at least.

Your speakers look great and I bet sound as good if not better than they look.

Thanks all for the kind comments about my speakers. It was fun building them. I went a bit overboard with the cabinets on my stats (all you really need are some wooden frames) but the stats themselves are relatively easy and inexpensive to build-- really a good value, considering their fidelity.

It still amazes me that you/me/anyone can take a couple of perforated steel plates (even screen wire) and a sheet of plastic and some double-sided foam adhesive tape and build a driver on the kitchen table that can rival any high end commercial product out there.

There's a lot of good info, good folks and experienced ESL builders over at the DIY Audio website if anyone is interested.

I couldn't help myself... it looked so lonely there on Ebay
It's true that I don't have a place for it in my system but it can be a backup in case one of my other amps craps out.

All of you enablers here aren't helping my situation...
